I think this sub is amazing and I know this is a bit odd, but I’m worried about my community and the employees at two local credit unions that are planning to merge into one entity.
Essentially, they’re only giving propaganda that says they will still employ everyone from both institutions, but they haven’t guaranteed that wages, benefits, and schedules will stay the same. Not to mention that this means less of a career track and less competition in the area.
Credit unions are owned by members and this merger is being done to steamroll the community. So I was hoping a few of you might be able to help. Please.
Employees at my local credit union have been told they will be fired if they express any dissent or doubts to members. This merger is no bueno.
I was hoping the members of this community would just copy and paste the following statement:
“Hello,
I have grave reservations about this merger. There was not enough due diligence to provide a transparent account of why two thriving institutions must merge, and members have not been given enough complete information to make an informed vote.
I think that this is a disservice for members and the community and I would urge you to reject this merger as not enough was guaranteed to members, and the board of directors (which includes the proposed entity’s CEO) is not making decisions that favor employees or members of either credit union.
