When I was hired, there was no onboarding or employee manual. Just had my work anniversary and on the next paycheck, noticed all my banked vacation was gone. Turns out, we have a use it or lose it policy. I’ve been banking that vacation for an expected life event at the end of the month. Now I don’t have any vacation time. It resets to “0” on your hire date each year. I live in a state where that is legal, but I’ve never been informed of this before.
