I told her no of course.
I work at a hospital as a nurse. I'm essentially the shift lead of my area, but not a manager. We're hemmoraging staff because dealing with covid has just absolutely sucked, and you can double or triple your pay by leaving and working as a travel nurse. To try to intice people to stay we got a decent raise. It's based on tenure. I've worked for the company for 4 years in May, my raise was from $29.6 to $34.x. I started at 22.5 as a new grad.
Not everyone got a raise. What my manager told me was that corporate looked at data of who was leaving the most. People who have been with the company for 10+ years weren't quitting to travel, so corporate just didn't give them a raise. What a thank you for your loyalty.
At least I know about when to expect they'll stop valuing me.
