Manager laughed at me as I called in sick due to Russian invasion of Ukraine

So I called in sick today after going through my morning routine of digesting covid news and global news and to my horror I saw that Russia has indeed started invading Ukraine.. I (21M, living in England) called my manager and said due to the conflict I cannot come in. I get anxious easily and world affairs always trouble me. My managers response when I told him? That if i'm not sick or don't need parental or dependant leave, it's not a valid reason, and he was kind of laughing alittle i'm sure I heard it, as he said it? He said russia has nothing to do with the UK and not to worry right now and that can I come in? He said I did the same thing when China was in the news about Taiwan?
