My friend works for a leasing office in Louisiana Mon-Fri, 8 hours per day.
Memorial Day was a paid day off. This was told to my friend by management. And it is reflected on the time card. However, management informed them at the end of last week that they’d be expected to work Memorial Day. No one showed up.
Now they’re saying all staff is required to work the weekend since they didn’t come on Memorial Day. So they’re requiring 7 days this week, 8 hours per day.
Is this legal?
