I work at a small sort of fast food place and we have a meeting on saturday at 9am. We got notice of this meeting on Monday, 5 days in advance. The manager who called the meeting at first said ‘either show up to the meeting or don’t bother to show up again’ and then after talking to the area manager (because he just threatened to fire anyone who missed the meeting), he said he will offer one on one meetings to ‘anyone who absolutely cannot make it’. As far as i know we are not getting paid to show up to this meeting. It is happening before our store opens and i’m not even sure how long this meeting will be. do i demand to get paid since i don’t work that day and im required to show up?
