My boss texted me the night before asking if i could work till 11 am the next day. I work night shift so my normal hours are 11p-7a. I did not text her back as I saw it too late and my coworkers and I get texts like that almost everyday. I come in that night and she put me down to work till 11, even though I never agreed nor responded. Some of my coworkers have told me they cannot do that, and some are saying they can. I do not mind working a 12 but we’re already extremely short staffed and on top of that we have people out with Covid. So I know this won’t be the last time. I also know they made another girl work a 16 the other day… so my question is, can they do this?
