Antiwork

manger belittled me infront of everyone, now is regretting it.

I work in care in the UK and recently handed in my notice (4 weeks). For whole host of reasons but genuinely because the amount we have to do for minimum wage is staggering. Over the last 6 months management have been progressively adding more tasks to our work load. To the point where an accident will eventually happen. Not to mention changing put shift patterns so we are working longer shifts without consulting us. So I find a job in the same field better conditions, better work hours, more pay and to top it all off from my research they really look after their staff. So I hand my notice in Friday 2 weeks ago you know ready for her to read on the Monday. She comes in early the Monday for something we call handover, essentially just a feed forward of information from the previous shift. But before…

But before I get a chance to start she goes into a tirade of abuse towards me for not doing tasks that is in her job description not mine. She picking things out of thin air in front of the whole staff present.
I ignore her because she's a general poor excuse for a human being. She's one of them managers that thinks she's the next messiah.

I leave out the door and on my way home I get a phone call from her. She's acting nice as pie and trying to butter me up. Trying to offer me the world to try and get me not to leave. Politely tell her to stick it where the sun doesn't shine, she acts all panic stricken.

I found out through co workers she's getting chewed out by her big boss for massive loss of staff. To boot looks like she's getting in real trouble for the way she spoke to me, bonus.

I just wanted to share my little win against a slave driving job. Just remember guys and gals. You deserve to be given what you are worth. If you're not given it, look for a place that will.

Keep up the good fight.
