I’m a Starbucks worker at a drive thru. We serve 100s of customers a day and now Starbucks wants to lift the mask mandate. Customers keep complaining about how they have to ask for straws or not being able to see our faces and now they finally get what they want. A lot of my coworkers are heavily antivaxx and anti masks and I’m honestly scared for my health. Even if covid symptoms of the delta variant are way more mild, I’m terrified of the long term effects. Personally I’m vaccinated and boosted, but I have a pretty weak immune system. Not immunocompromised but if I get sick, I get the worst symptoms and it lasts a while. I just had a cold about 2 weeks ago and I’m still struggling with it. Why is Starbucks so quick to remove protocols that are supposed to protect us Baristas? (We no longer have to isolate if we have symptoms, only if we test positive and now isolation lasts 5 days)
