I’m enrolling in some IT classes at college, and wanted to see if any antiwork people had any guidance or advice for someone looking to get into the IT field. Any specific specialties I should look into acquiring ? Just in general any advice; I’ve been a mental health technician for over 10 yrs and was attempting to obtain an Rn degree, but they (unofficially) want you to pay and get an LPN degree first then get an Rn degree, I say unofficially because they allow you to take all kinda classes and know your academic plan is to get your Rn, but they only offer so many seats in the Rn program and they’re all filled with Lpn’s transitions to Rn’s. I don’t have the time (34m with 4kids) or money to jump through their hoops 🤦️ and it’s frustrating that one of the avenues of bettering my position in life is locked away behind an unofficial pay wall that I’m too angry to give in to. So sorry for the rant in the middle there, but really just looking for some advice /guidance.
