Title says all. I am 17 and I am trying to get a new job before college so I can save up. Last job didn’t work out and I’ve been looking for months(its funny people say no one wants to work yet my applications get ignored). I applied to a local gas station chain and immediately got a call back for an interview so I jumped at it. Now before I talk about my interview I want to mention that I have a very rare heart and lung disease, they go hand and hand with eachother and I am the only known case in the world. I am medicated and it keeps my condition in control, it never affected my former job but when I get sick it usually gets very bad to the point of hospitalization, I thankfully don’t get sick often so that is rare. But anyways I went to the interview, it went great, the boss was nice and talked what I wanted and my future plans. I of course brought up my condition up front, no reason to lie I just shrug it off cause i’m living with it. The guy looked a little weary and immediately wrote it down once I told him but I reassured him that I am in control and my last job there was no issues(thats a lie but it I was attacked so nothing to do with work). He told me to check my email today and he sent me off. I got an email saying they have chosen not to go through with me, but I just have to think, was I not hired because of my disease? and is that even legal? I hate being looked at like some disabled kid. I am 18 in 2 months and I’m trying my best to live on. Any thoughts or suggestions?
