So I work remotely for a large insurance e organization. I told them I need a little less than half a day off because we may be putting our dog down due to rapid and unexpected decline. I was met with an empty “I’m so sorry” followed by “you can take an long lunch, but need to come back and complete assigned work as we are short staffed.” They know just what to say in trying times.
