Today is my day off but I was required to attend a “training” for my work. It was an “important day” and they insisted I join in this meeting for the “benefit”. I took a look at the training guide and shook my head seeing it was for only 7 minutes…. 7 minutes just for me….. the rest for other department heads. (2 hours total)
Just before I attended, they send out a video email conference # to join in via video conference call. Great. I’ll join in from home.
They ended up changing the code 4 times. The day before they changed it a 5th time and I wrote it down. Tried to join this morning and i was in a waiting room with 7 others. Waiting. I waited 20 minutes thinking they were running late (they tend to do that from previous encounters) eventually they left and I decided to check my email just in case they decided to change it.
Absolute shocker. They changed it an hour before I was supposed to attend. An HOUR. Rejoined to the correct conference and I fucking missed what was suppose to be important for me.
Every-time this happens they decided to do this on my day off. This happens every, single, time. I’m livid.
Oh well. I don’t know what I missed. I really don’t care anymore. I just want to spend the rest of my day working on my college work. Would of been better spent working on homework than wasting my time with work bouncing to figure out meetings # that change so frequently. Besides, it was for only 7 minutes, what could I have missed that was only for 7 minutes anyways… listened in for every other department but mine. What a joke.
Side note: I think my job will eventually get replaced in the future anyways. That’s why I’m working on my bachelors. They had reduced hours in another department after our main manager left. I need the full time hours for rent, bills and college. The job is just a Temporary fill spot for now till they decide to cut back more. Really sucks to as they are having a hard time filling up the positions for the company. No one wants to participate in the hiring events because simply: they are not competitive in pay, if anything, barley above minimum wage for our state. Why do a job for $11-12 an hour when the local Arby’s, Walmart, target and McDonald’s pay 15-17 an hour? They complain no one wants to work when I look at it and say “so your not willing to pay the price for your most hardworking people and instead, you see them as lesser and scare them off to other competitors. That’s why no one wants to work, they don’t want to work to barley stay a float.”
