Monkeypox has just been declared a global health emergency with cases quickly rising, and recent scientific data showing today that it is in fact airborne. On top of that we’re on our, what, 5th & more contagious mutation of Omicron? My job has had people testing positive for covid and won’t even inform the rest of us, so I think I’d like to quit as the risks are becoming increasingly too high. I caught covid before lockdown at 21 and healthy and I still suffer from severe long covid to this day so I’m really not playing around with them. With all these things going on I don’t feel safe going to work anymore. Actually, I never felt safe I just got hired here a few months ago because my state ended the eviction moratorium and I had no choice but to come out from hiding. I’m afraid for my physical and mental well-being and there’s nothing I can do about it. This country wants me to go out there with my chronic illnesses from the first pandemic and be ready to take on the next one without even paying me a living wage. I call bullshit, I’m about to just say fuck it quit my job and see how long I can avoid being evicted until I find a new remote job. (Btw if anyone knows of anywhere hiring please dm me I’m tired of spending hours sitting through fake job listings online)
