Had one of the weirdest experiences ever with an 'interview' this week & figured you'd love to see how the job market is.
First off, talked 2 weeks ago (Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday) & they said “let's talk Friday 10:00AM” then once Friday came they missed the interview & they then said “let's talk next Friday at 10:00 AM”. That already was the only red flag I needed.
Then next Friday comes around & they again miss the 10:00 AM interview. I'm done with the organization but gave a polite “go fuck yourself” in a follow up message but in a professional way.
Then they get back to me, I say, let's talk Wednesday at 3:00 PM, on my terms, & they immediately call me. At this point I just want to fuck with them more.
What I got next, will always be, my top worst 'interview' ever. It's a PPE/medical supply company & the dude didn't even interview me. Asked me 0 questions the entire time.
It was basically a MLM like sales pitch, he talked for 1hour & 15 minutes straight.
I had the phone on mute, & just let him go while I was doing other applications online. I wanted to waste his time.
It's a 1099 independent position, no salary, all commission based job, bragged about how much the #6 inside sales W2 employees make (low 132k- highest 720k). Weird range but whatever. Boasted about the companies history & their value to the world & just so much bullshit.
He went on to say, “if you want to hire your own people & contract them out & do your own thing, you can”. He basically wants to increase the number of outside sales from 0 to 30 within the next 6 months, all being 1099 independent. But if I wanted to like “franchise” & cut a deal where I'd be fucking people over, he'd be fine with that, as long as we got results.
Of course you want to grow the business dramatically while giving nothing away to those who will grow your company. No benefits, no salary. Just if you sink, we lose nothing, if you swim, we gain the profits.
It was just hilarious everything he was saying. He asked me 0 questions the entire time. It was almost like he was coked up & rambling. I'd have to force myself every 15-20 minutes to interrupt him to say something, as if I was really paying attention, just to see how delusional he was.
I maybe talked for 4 minute the entire time.
Based off his linkedin profile, 100s of connections, & the companies website, I would have never guessed it was this way at all.
Just goes to shows you that some people can look the part & be lost in the sauce.
And yeah, he probably makes mid-high 6 figure salary despite being unhinged.
