I'm in Ireland, and I asked my US manager for a raise to match parity with the market value of my role. He then showed me the salaries our US team members are receiving, and the value I asked to be bumped up to was even lower than the low of that range.
He then said to prove Ireland isn't a cheap labour country, because when he worked in Microsoft (previous company) he hired from Ireland simply because we were cheap labour.
