what's up guys. let's just jump right into it. i used to work for a corporation that rhymes with moomeez, where we would get our schedules in advance for the entire week. as of a few months ago, i started working at a local shop that sells vapes instead.
here is my issue. the owner of the store does not tell me i am working until the day of, and usually does it over text. when i was in school the past semester, i tried to give him a schedule that worked for me and he basically totally dismissed it. we have not mentioned it since.
i tried looking into it and currently, i do not think my state has any laws about the notice of scheduling. there is only a handful of states that have enforced this type of scheduling law.
besides the obvious “get a new job,” does anybody have any advice?
edit for clarification: i am not an on call employee. my other coworkers do not get a schedule either.
