My boss got let go last week. He was the station manager, which has been operational since early October 2021. In the 5 months, a lot of shit has gone wrong under his command.
-I fell on the job, fracturing my elbow and putting me out of work for 2 months.
-34 pieces of luggage were sent to the wrong stations: 16 meant for Ft Myers went to Orlando, 18 vice versa
-it eventually came to the realization of everyone that he and a newer ticket counter agent were sleeping together
-his response to messages and phone calls were extremely poor
-his ADD made it so he couldn't focus on much for an extended period of time
The cherry on top was when he pushed out an A320 with no certification or prior experience. Everyone on that shift objected, saying we should take the delay and wait for someone with certification to show, even if it means cancelling the flight. He ignored us and pushed it out anyways. One of my coworkers almost got inhaled into the jet engine when this happened. We were all scared for our lives, particularly my coworker and I, who were walking the plane onto the taxiway.
Long story short, he was clearly not fit for the position. The guy was from Newark, didn't know what he was doing, and getting fired was honestly the best thing for the station.
