Just a rant I guess. And sorry for the scattered text, my brain is a little frazzled.
I found out yesterday from another co worker that my boss knew his wife tested positive Friday morning. My boss however didn’t say a word and continued to travel to our sites and show us plans and discuss scheduled works with us throughout Friday day. At one point he was literally hanging over my shoulder while we were reading plans.
I called in Monday morning after feeling rough all night Sunday and getting a positive test. When I called he said he tested positive Saturday too. I was then told yesterday by my Co worker about bosses wife testing positive on the Friday and realised what an arrogant stupid pos he was. I have been off work for 3 days with sweats, body aches, tight chest and headache , without pay and am likely to be off the whole week claiming only statutory. Which tbh is like half a days wage for a full week off.
FYI: I know it was my boss and not picked up over the weekend as I live a quiet life and we work in a team of 2 and my other colleague whom I haven’t seen since Friday also tested positive Monday.
I have had covid before in this man’s employment and he couldn’t wait to get me back to the job, trying to cut my isolation down. Luckily I’m fairly outspoken so told him no. However this time his arrogance has put me and my family at risk (my partner has also tested positive) luckily I have a strong family network who are looking after our girls for a few days.
Now as far as I know there are no legal implications here, I can’t do anything and he broke no laws as such. But he did not even have the decency to warn us or stay away for one day and communicate over the phone. He did not think one second on our safety or the safety of our families (my partner has a 92 yr old grandfather). Well now he’s lost a week of production from his 1st fix team for his arrogance and stupidity. And I’ve lost a week wage. Absolute pos.
