Antiwork

My boss is mad at me for working my full shift.

I work 5am-1pm as a breakfast attendant for a hotel. Today I had to go in and remind my boss that he can’t schedule me for certain days because I have previous obligations, and that we’ve discussed this before. Other than that we’ve had no previous issues. As I go to leave, he stops me and asks to talk with me. He then proceeded to ask me “Why does it take you your full shift to finish your work?” And I pause, taken aback because what? I asked him to elaborate. He then explains that my other coworker who does the other shift, always clocks out early while still getting their stuff done. He asks if there’s any way I could hurry it up and be more efficient at my job because he feels like he shouldn’t have to pay me to be this slow. All I know about this…

He then proceeded to ask me “Why does it take you your full shift to finish your work?”
And I pause, taken aback because what?
I asked him to elaborate.
He then explains that my other coworker who does the other shift, always clocks out early while still getting their stuff done. He asks if there’s any way I could hurry it up and be more efficient at my job because he feels like he shouldn’t have to pay me to be this slow.
All I know about this other coworker is that they are constantly extremely late, and messy, leaving me to clean up their messes when it’s my turn.

It’s not like I’m sitting around doing nothing my whole shift, it LITERALLY takes my whole shift for me to finish most days.

How the fuck am I supposed to respond to this?
He’s literally the one who controls my hours, why is this my problem??
