I work for a small marketing firm that is really dysfunctional. I’m in a frigid climate and my boss isn’t very accommodating to that, he is the company owner and lives 5 minutes away from the office so it’s easy for him.
Yesterday we had a winter storm warning, the roads were really bad. I had a dentist appointment and when I left, I told him I’d like to work from home the rest of the day. He said I had to come in (I’m expected to be in person all day, 5 days a week for a job that could be done at home 95% of the time) to get the mail in case we had any checks. He was “very concerned” that they wouldn’t be sent to the bank that same day. I drove 40 minutes in a snowstorm, slipping and sliding all over, then I get the mail and there aren’t even any checks.
No consideration for time or safety whatsoever. He and other people were here at the office, they could half walked 5 feet to the mailbox to check but nope.
