So for context I’m up for a promotion at my job. It would still be the same title technically, but Id have a bunch of additional responsibilities and a raise. Cool, that’s fair. So I have this meeting with my boss, who is actually a really good person and nice as a boss , and ask about the budget they have for salary in this new role. Turns out it’s not a raise , actually about what I’m making currently hourly and about 25% less than I would need to qualify for a lease at an apartment in the area. I tell him this as my current lease ends in a couple months, and I need to start looking for a new place to live. He responds by saying he can just lie about my salary to the landlords so I’d qualify I was just like that’s not exactly the point man.
