recently, my boss has been trying to work on getting the employees of our store to cut the tardiness. granted it honestly has been pretty bad, with most of us coming in 10-15 minutes late at least a couple times a week, sometimes later.
so a couple mornings ago, I came in to open with my boss (10 minutes late, but the store was empty and I told him I was running late). it was a genuine mistake and I didn’t plan on being late, but I’m disabled and mornings can be really hard for me.
instead of talking to me about it, he sent a passive aggressive ass text to the entire work group chat, and told us that we were now “expected” to be 5 minutes early to all our shifts. he ignored me the entire morning until I apologized and he didn’t even act mad, so I thought we moved on.
today my shift started at 2, I walked in at 2 on the dot and clocked in by 2:01. my coworker started messing with me, telling me I was late and to get my ass in the warehouse to clear truck. I started doing it because I actually had the motivation to, and started clearing pallets pretty quickly. my boss COMES BACK AND INTERRUPTS ME, and makes me sign a warning that says I’ll be written up next time I’m “late”. he really expects this and I didn’t realize he was so serious about it. keep in mind, my coworkers are sitting around on their phones at this time.
is this even allowed? I don’t get paid enough for this shit. I genuinely used to like this job but I wanna quit. this is so hard to deal with
