It turns out that I won an internal application in the company where I currently work. I will be working for a new team in the US, however it is a remote position so I will continue to work from where I live now, in South America.
My new boss told me if I could start working in my new role in a month and a half. The problem is that my old boss, the one I currently have until the process is finished, does not want me to leave yet because he wants me to train a new person for my current position. Which totally makes sense, but he wants me to wait 3 months to switch roles, 3 whole months.
I can start training anyone, and I can do it very quickly, but the person I would train is currently working on another project. In other words, I am going to spend another month just waiting for someone to be available, and another 2 or 3 months to train him.
I am afraid that my new boss, from the application I won, will not want to wait so long and will give the job to someone else.
What do you think? What should I do?
