My partner is an exterminator and the summertime is the busy season where he might be working 12 hour days. A call came in for a big facility wanting to be treated right then and there for bed bugs at 8pm so that the facility could resume work ASAP. Even if it could be done, those treatments have to settle for a number of hours before people can re-enter. So this big boss of the company got big mad that no one jumped at the opportunity in the company group chat. there was no incentive for anyone to treat a giant facility after a full work day so that the company could make a buck. so one of my boyfriend's coworkers stood up for himself and his coworkers and ended up getting fired for it. he's not sure what his coworker's contact says but since he's salaried, not hourly, my boyfriend's contract says he doesn't work past 6pm. my boyfriend also suspects that the boss was drunk when sending these messages. you cant reasonably expect your (underpaid) employees to care about your business as much as you do.
