I've worked for this company for 6 years and moved cities/ states to take this job in sales. When I told my boss I was pregnant and had a disability she started treating me different and all my “downfall” on my 90 day review were symptoms of my disability I explained this to HR and they ignored me and now my boss is being even meaner since she found out I complained. Yesterday I found out a man got offered the same job I'm doing now but making 20k more a year. I asked hr why I'm being grossly underpaid and they said since he was a supervisor of a different department they couldn't cut his pay in the new roll but to me it still seems very illegal I'm getting paid 20k less a year than a man for the same job. I was told to stop rocking the boat bc no one else will hire a pregnant disabled woman. When I told my boss rent here is 2/3 my income and I need more she said “just go buy a house” like ???? A lawyer told me to file a claim with the eeoc and I'll do that today. But I can't stop crying and all the other jobs I qualify for pay 30k less than I'm making now and we're barely making it as is and what if they're right and no one else will hire a pregnant woman. I can't sleep or think and I don't know what to do. My partner says to just quit and I can get on the government health insurance or medicaid since I'm pregnant and we'll figure it out but that will put him covering all bills and add a lot of stress on him but this stress I'm experiencing isn't good for the baby.
