I'm beyond livid right now. Here's the gist of what's happening: during open enrollment last year, I checked prices for healthcare with my company and it was more expensive than my current insurance so I didn't go through with it. When I got my “confirmation of benefits”, healthcare wasn't listed.
Imagine my surprise when I get my first paycheck in January and they've taken out $124 for healthcare. Apparently since my information was in the system they just went ahead and signed me up for it. I've been trying since then to get it removed and have been dealing with endless back and forth with our Benefits department.
Today i got the news that they aren't going to fix it because I didn't “remove it before the Jan 1st deadline.” I tried opening another appeal and they won't let me. I tried escalating the issue and they refused to escalate it any further.
I'm devastated. $3k is absolutely nothing to this company but it's a huge difference to me and knowing that they're digging in their heels over this just completely sours working here for me.
