My company restructured, I was effectively demoted & now I have no room for growth

I've been at my company for almost two years. They were a small family company that dispatched service techs. The office and techs all interacted and cared about each other. The company has since grown, restructured and now the office and warehouse can no longer interact at all apart from recorded work related phone calls. They hired outside people to come in as middle managers/liaisons between office and techs. I had been very good at my job but that was because I built a relationship with the techs so we helped each other out. Now this connection has been severed. Permissions have been taken away and even my boss admitted that I have no room for growth. I am the most senior person in the office (at less than 2 years so you see the turnover rate) and I'm not valued or respected at all by management. I'm paid enough…

I'm paid enough but I don't necessarily want to stay in this field. I'm taking classes to transition to tech but I still have a ways to go.

The smart thing to do is keep my head down, put in less effort and focus on training to get a better job that I will have lined up before I turn in notice. Right? I have to stop myself from quitting every day but I have kids and a mortgage so that feels risky
