is to be a teacher. I am a sophomore in college and I would love to pursue a career in early childhood education because I am genuinely passionate about the subject and interacting with kids brings me so much joy. It's not fair that if I decide to teach in the US I'll be resigning myself to a life of poverty.
Went on a teaching subreddit and nothing pissed me off more than seeing teachers respond to the “how can I teach and not be poor??” question with variants of “marry rich.” Like, I shouldn't have to marry rich to be able to support myself! WTF!
Anyway, not gonna be a teacher. It's this country's loss, really — I know for a fact I would be the best goshdarn teacher ever. But instead I'll be going into something more “practical.” smh
