My employer always asks personal questions about my sick days(uk based)

I tested positive for covid and it went downhill very quickly, I’m struggling to get out bed never mind work so I’ve had to call in sick for my last two shifts. When I first started feeling ill I was already at work so informed my manager I would have to log off(I work from home) as I couldn’t continue, told them I have covid and am feeling the effects of it describing the symptoms I had that meant I couldn’t work. They asked if I’d taken an medication. Today when I rang in they asked why I’m still ill after three days??? And if I’d spoken to a doctor (bearing in mind it was Friday afternoon I had to log off, I called in again Monday 8am and it’s also a well known illness with well known symptoms and I’m not presenting any that aren’t listed as normal). Is this normal practice for an employer to question you like this when you call in sick? I thought I was being courteous telling them the symptoms for why I couldn’t work.
