Tldr: I was trained for two hours on how to give insulin shots to a mentally disabled client.
I work at a residential care facility for mentally disabled adults. I have no state Training or certification as my company doesn’t require it. I’m also not a licensed RN or LPN. We’re getting a client with diabetes that requires one on one care. We are being told that we have to administer insulin three times a day.
We are only being trained by the clients parents for exactly 2 hours. This client is coming to spend the weekend and I’m terrified I’m going to seriously hurt her. I’m not at all confident with my understanding of her meds.
