My employment agreement states differently than company policy?

So it has been over a year and a half at my current office job, and i'm realizing it isn't best fit as it once was for a multitude of different reasons. This has brought me to start searching for something new, and in result of that I have scheduled a few job interviews in the next coming weeks. Which brings me to my point of if i'm going to quit, I will do it concisely and hand in a proper resignation notice. Which brings me to my point of if i'm going to quit, I will do it concisely and hand in a proper resignation notice.

I went to review my employment agreement as well as company policy to ensure I go about it the “right” way but I am now very conflicted as they are saying two different things.

Employment agreement/contract states – “You may resign your employment by provided us at least 4 (four) weeks written notice should you decide to resign, which notice is for the sole benefit of the employer and may be waived in whole or in part by the employer.”

And yes, the assumed typo “provided” (rather than what I assume should be “providing”) is what is included the actual agreement/contract.

Now this is where I begin to get confused;

The company policy states – An employee wishing to terminate their employment must submit a written, signed, letter of resignation to their immediate Manager. The letter should state the effective date employment will cease. We request at least two (2) weeks notice prior to the effective date. A resigning employee’s Manager may accept the notice as offered and request that the employee work throughout the notice period.

So my employment agreement/contract says I need 4 weeks notice to resign, but company policy states 2 weeks.

Especially with going through job interviews, I would hate to tell them they have to wait 4 weeks before I can start when it is typically much faster. All the while there is a VERY good chance I get “fired”/let go right after I hand in my notice since my employer has a tendency of doing so with previous employees.

Curious if anyone has any thoughts on my situation, or what they would do in my shoes? I'm pretty conflicted by this and not sure how I should proceed.
