My Ex-Boss (UK) Agreed To Pay Me A Severance. Months Later, I’m Still Chasing It

At title says, my employer agreed to pay me £x amount as when I left the company I trained other teams how to do my role and wrote step-by-step guides (basically avoiding those scenarios I see in posts here where someone leaves and the company didn’t realise how much that person does and can’t operate without them). I left the company in November 2021, did not hear from him so I emailed roughly New Year’s Day, January 2022 to find out what arbitrary amount he would give me (I left the ball in his court as, for the last time, I wanted to see what kind of dick he is). Heard back in late January and he asked for my bank details and gave me an amount. Since then I have been sending chaser emails and hearing nothing back. Without taking him to small claims court (which could take years),…

Again, all is agreed in writing.
