My fitness levels are higher in unemployment than they have ever been since I started tracking them in 2018

I got an Apple Watch in 2018, and a set of smart scales, which among other things show me a fitness score. It’s always been below average. I quit my job about two and half months ago, and I didn’t change much – it’s not like I started working out. I have always walked the dog once or twice a day for about half an hour. The major difference is that now I’m not chained to the desk 12-13 hours a day and spend my time running errands and pottering. It used to tell me I was the average fitness level of a 55-year-old, including the two years when I was seeing a personal trainer. Now, it has increased to an age-appropriate fitness level (I’m 39F). I probably have to start applying for jobs soon before I run out of money, but this is just yet another reason why I…

I probably have to start applying for jobs soon before I run out of money, but this is just yet another reason why I really don’t want to. As an added bonus, I have been on meds for anxiety and depression since 2019, and since quitting my job it’s the first time in as long as I can remember that I’m not feeling the slightest bit anxious or depressed.

So, all you have to do to improve both your mental and physical health is quit working! /s
