My former employer in trouble with the FDA.

I worked in pharmaceuticals for a year. Was working around some dangerous controlled substances. I completed all the training necessary for a raise, but I got no raise. This was the case with numerous workers there. Raises kept getting put off and ignored. People were working 6-10 hours straight in a clean room when FDA states no more than 4. I also found out that everyone in that factory is making about 50% of what the national average is for clean room workers and the healthcare plans for the bare minimum, $10,000 deductible. Workers routinely suffered from depression from being locked in a clean room 10 hours a day. There were quite a few issues that I was trained to overlook. Workers routinely suffered from depression from being locked in a clean room 10 hours a day. There were quite a few issues that I was trained to overlook. My boss started saying that management thinks my midshift position wasn't necessary and I should move to 6 am (which doesn't work well with my insomnia and anxiety). I showed graphs showing how my position was making it easier for everyone on day shift to leave on time since I was there for half of day shift and half of nightshift. They didn't listen. One day there were numerous deficiencies in stocking the washroom and gowning room. (These are the rooms you have to go through to get to a clean room where the medicine is made, a very sterile environment). Not only did the deficiencies in stocking these rooms affect my ability to do my job but it also was a serious concern for patient safety. Management never listened to my concerns before so I expressed them quite emotionally over the radio. They fired me. I reported every violation that I had seen over the past year to the FDA and now I'm proud to say that company got hit with two FDA recalls of about 2 million doses of medication. 3.6 million total. Also the CEO was caught lying saying that her products were made in America when most of the ingredients were purchased from Europe.
