My girlfriend works for a local senator’s office, and the manager forces her to look busy at work while working hybrid. She’s been applying to other jobs and got a lot of call backs.

Everyone thinks working for a senator is some prestigious position. It’s not, there’s one person who helps the senator on legislation and everyone else acts as a glorified secretary. The pay was 40k starting and she thought she was lucky to have this job. Until they started timing her bathroom breaks, told her to just wait for a new email when she got her work done early instead of doing something else, won’t let her listen to music, or even study a different subject to boost herself.
