Antiwork

My job keeps adding onto the “lower” employees work load, to make theirs easier.

I’m currently looking for a new job, it’s a bit difficult, my job was fairly easy, a bit annoying because they are never consistent with my hours, but easy and pays decent for where I live. When I started I was told I’d be working from 7am to 3pm, then was not getting off until 6-7pm because they told us we can’t leave until all of our work is done, was not told that before starting, then they changed it to 8am to 4pm, annoying but okay, THEN one day I was about to leave at 4 and was told I’m not supposed to leave until 5pm. We have 3 levels of jobs at my work, porter (me and 1 other person) driver (3 people) and the office logistics team and customer support (also 3 people). After our meeting somehow the porters now end up with A LOT more time…

We have 3 levels of jobs at my work, porter (me and 1 other person) driver (3 people) and the office logistics team and customer support (also 3 people).

After our meeting somehow the porters now end up with A LOT more time consuming and physical labor, along with things that are not even our job, it’s other people job. My boss insisted that it was to “make things so much easier” when in reality he means “this will be easier for everyone except you, you do the hard work that way I have less paperwork to do.”.

I genuinely hate this job so much, it was easy, I can do with a regular work load, maybe even some extra stuff, but this is way more than we are used to and takes up an abundance of our time and even has us doing illegal things (nothing serious but still). Not to mention how I’ve experienced sexism, homophobia, and sexual harassment in the workplace.
