I’m leaving my job after being here for about a year and a few months. Everything has been great and my boss and I had a wonderful conversation about how highly we think of each other. He asked me to email my resignation to him.
Upon receiving the email, he responded “HR wanted me to make sure you knew about the minimum 4 week notice to be eligible for return”. I have an outstanding rapport with most of the individuals here, and this just feels like the biggest slap in the face. I moved across the country within 2 weeks to start here ! I am in lower/middle management, my responsibilities are wrapped up, and I have a great replacement hoisted up. There is nothing that 4 weeks will do for them. Very disheartening because I HATE burning bridges. Any advice my friends ?
