My manager laughed at me when I called in sick.

So I called in sick today after going through my morning routine of digesting covid news and global news and to my horror I saw that Russia has indeed started invading Ukraine.. I (21M, living in England) called my manager and said due to the conflict I cannot come in. I get anxious easily and world affairs always trouble me. My managers response when I told him? That if i'm not sick or don't need parental or dependant leave, it's not a valid reason, and he was kind of laughing alittle i'm sure I heard it, as he said it? He said russia has nothing to do with the UK and then asked if I had family or friends living over there, I said no, so he said what's the problem then can you come in, that I can take it easy today or something.
