So I've been off work for health-related reasons at the end of last week. I've spent my weekend at the hospital and went back to work on Monday — I do need the money and my boss won't stop being whiny about her own health, which, fair.
She goes on vacation at the end of the week and I'm going to be alone for two weeks as a payroll manager, for 350 workers. It's gonna be hell. I'm untrained and barely paid above minimum wage, but I desperately need the money.
She loves to whine. She complains all the time to anyone that would listen. I've known her for a month and she's already driving my patience thin. Thing is ever since I went back it's all fake people asking me if I'm feeling better. And I overheard her saying “oh yeah, OP is back, she's had health problems last week and let me tell you, it was difficult being alone because I just recovered from covid”.
And she's wondered why I was being surly this morning. I tried to break it to her gently but she won't listen. any advice on how to handle this “corporate-friendly”? Honestly my meds have dire side effects and I feel like I'm going to be super agressive if I talk honestly.
