My kid(4) and my neighbor's kid (7) got into a fight over a toy. My kid gets the better of the tussle. Neighbor dad comes over to complain. We get verbal with each other. His parting shot to me was “atleast I have a job and provide for my family”.
I'm 52, had a child later in life, and I've been a stay at home parent for the last couple of years. My beautiful wife has a career she enjoys and makes good money at it. We have dipped into my 401k some, but isn't that point? When my older kids where young, I worked a lot to make ends meet. I can't describe how awesome its been spending my days with my little guy.
I just can't get past how brain washed my neighbor is. I just don't get it.
