So I just got fired today…and I can't rant to anyone about this.
I'm a quality system professional for a pharmaceutical company. I generally get paid about ~$40/hr in a permanent position but due to labor shortage contract jobs pay about ~$80-90/hr.
I was contracted by this billion-dollar company for 2 years to fix their system. (Should be from 2021-2022 with a possible extension) I've been with them for at least a year and the current director who I report to is satisfied with my work.
Due to multiple issues in different departments, my director placed me under a new manager a month ago. I already felt something was off two weeks prior about this new manager as she was nitpicking every project I've completed and I just shrugged it off. I'm not sure if she was jealous…
Since I work for an agency, the new manager had to sign my invoice every week. It shows the hours I worked and my payment.
Anyway, early December of last year I was offered a permanent position as a manager at that company but it pays at $100k/year so I declined.
Fast forward to today, I just got an email from my agency that the new manager gave a list of her grievances against me which are utterly false saying I don't submit the work on time or it is lacking. I submit all my work on time even much earlier than the designated deadlines.
My director tried to contact me but I didn't accept his calls. I was too shocked and devastated.
//end rant
Update:
- I spoke to my agency and there's nothing they can do about it. I gave them the receipts of my work and all the projects I've done and my new manager has no basis for her grievances. End of my contract is final. (I'm a 1099 employee and this agency just helps find job placement)
- I was too emotional to answer the phone. I've never been fired before and I always value my work ethic. I'm an efficient worker and go above and beyond the work responsibilities. I always leave my past jobs in good terms. My last position I left with a month's notice to train my replacement.
- I finally talked to my director and he acknowledged how badly this ended. He just wanted to make sure that I didn't delete my project files in the company drive and to return the company laptop.
- I honestly need a break from all this and freshen up my resume next month.
