I just need to rant because this crap is nuts.
I've worked at the co for 8 years now and have seen a lot of good and a lot of bad. Its a small IT biz so we've always been a little stretched thin but we used to have enough staff to make it bearable. At the start of this year, we had 5 field techs. We are now down to 3. In the last 3 years we have double the profits and yet….we never hired people to fill the positions that had been left over the last 3 years… especially the last 5 techs that quit this year…
Ive been desperately trying to tell the managers that we need to temporarily promote the more experienced call center techs to at least grab some smaller clients that don't have a ton of reactive work done or many onsite visits. They wont listen to me. I may not be super business orientated but I've been at this company long enough to know the staffing numbers we SHOULD be at in order to make sure no one rage quits and yet I'm told no? Lol. I brought up a few months ago how what if someone decides to quit, what will we do? Why can't we just hire one or two more people to even out workloads and make sure we have the proper amount of hands on deck?
5 people quit in 5 months, yet the managers still don't understand. HOW. DOES. ONE. NOT. UNDERSTAND? If i were our corporate office, I would say hmmm. There's clearly major problems going on and we should probably look at the top of the org to see why….
I'm finally looking for jobs elsewhere. Just can't take the exhaustion and frustration anymore. 19 clients is a lot. When we were properly staffed 3 years ago, I only had 7 clients. That's how crazy it is.
