When i (18F) was 16-17, i worked at an applebees. i was just happy to find a job at the time, and ignored the red flags. On my second day, when i was being trained, my (47 M) manager told me and my trainer that we should stand outside shirtless to get customers to come in. not sure why i didn’t quit then, but whatever.
a few months in, i was putting salt and pepper shakers in this bin right by him. we both turned at the same time and my butt rubbed against his crotch and he said “that’s the most action i’ve had in months”. Another time, he asked if me and my friends used the same vibrator at sleepovers. He also said he had sexual dreams about all the girls that worked there. This is just a few things i can think of, but shit like this was happening every day.
I could handle him screaming at me for small mistakes, doing things to intentionally make my job harder, and sexually harassing me everyday. but at a certain point i couldn’t take it anymore. I ended up calling him on a weekend night before my shift and quit. he was so pissed. I have 0 regrets, and found a job with all women management with a way better work environment.
