I was working managing a team of 2 reporting directing into a Super. With them in turn reporting into a Group Manager. (Account was on ML). When Account went on ML, a decision was made to re-hire an old employee who accepted a demotion to return as a PT Super.
When they started, it was my job to train them up and it became evident she had an issue with the way we were doing work now. (Different process to when she worked there). Over time she began nitpicking everything I was doing & I flagged it with the Super I reported to. He believed a position for a FT Super would open soon and she was likely posturing for that ahead of me. I thought fair enough, im not too bothered about that.
Until 1 day I couldnt take her comments anymore and I sent her a message expressing my displeasure at constantly getting questioned and straight after sending I had an anxiety attack, so spoke it over with the other Super. And then management called me (Wfh), and I thought everything was smoothed over.
Fast forward 6 months, day before my bday and a weeks holidays, I am called into a meeting with the GM and PT Sup, she was recording every issue she had with me on an excel. (Literally everything, small things, forgetting full stops, asking a question she believed I should've known). GM took her side & they said I had a month to improve or I was going on a PIP. (Performance Improvement Plan).
Other Sup and lads I worked over had no issues with me and said such to GM, but it didn't make a difference. Got a new job 2 weeks later, higher pay, better position. She got the FT Sup that came up after I left.
BUT, due to their treatment, 1 whom reported to me has left, and the AM isn't returning from ML.
Good Sup texts me once every couple weeks to catch up and occasionally asked if I'd come back. (Other Sup hasn't changed her attitude, and has excels on everyone).
Guess worked out much better for me, cheers for the push!
