I got a job at a car dealership to make money before going to start college in the fall. This place pays really well, $20 an hour, and the shifts are ten hours, so I’m able to make close to $1k a week. I got hired to work in the car wash, which means I’m sweating under the hot sun all day. It’s exhausting work.
Part of the job is running five hours straight once a week to take cars out of the wash. The second time I did that, I injured my foot. I have flat feet, so I can’t run for long periods of time. I had to go to the foot doctor to get a steroid shot up my foot. At the same time this happened, the garage door to the shop broke. So my manager thought it would be a good idea for me to be in charge or opening and closing the door manually. That means I just sit next to the controls all day, literally doing nothing. I’ve had time to re watch breaking bad, watch the fourth season of stranger things, read a couple books, and watch a ton of TikToks and YouTube.
Finally, they said that the door will be fixed tonight. It took them forever to get the part, which is why it has taken this long. I am going to have to go back to doing real work. Oh well. At least I go to college soon!
