I work at a bar/restaurant tent in a fair that is open for 2 weeks this summer. On weekends I work from 12am to 10pm cleaning tables, helping out in the kitchen and bringing stuff from the warehouse when it's needed.
Today I left work later to help a bit more and I wanted to go straight home but my parents were visiting and asked me to stay, we walked around the fair for some time and they decided to have dinner and something to drink at the place I work at.
I didn't eat anything because I already had dinner after leaving but I sat with them anyways, when they were done eating it was around 11:45pm and they asked me to go back inside, clean their table throw the plastic plates to the trash and get takeout bags for the leftovers as if I was still working.
They got mad when I refused and started to say that I should help my coworkers who are still working and that it would impress my boss and that it didn't matter that I finished working since I work there anyways, I kept refusing and my father told me that I'm an idiot for not wanting to leave a good impression of me and called me an asshole for not caring about the other people working, he ended up so angry that he told me to leave.
I don't have a problem helping after I'm done since while they were dining one of my coworkers asked me to help him with something which I did but it was the way that they demanded that I did what they told me that it felt so insulting.
