I’ve been working in the restaurant business this summer for some extra cash and my boss is legitimately terrible.
Some days the place was well over 100 degrees F with two ovens turned on both underneath and above me. The AC was barely working and they didn’t give a shit. My other boss has body shamed me to other people as well as regular shit-talking (and I’m pretty sure she outed one of my coworkers too). On one particularly hot day two of the people nearly fainted and after miraculously getting permission they closed the place early. One of my coworkers threw up all night and went to the health center and was told she had heatstroke. When she called in sick from work our boss yelled at her over the phone and said that this job maybe wasn’t right for her. SHE IS 16.
Our boss also yelled at one of my coworkers for closing the place at 10 pm when the last customer came at 9:40 (our closing time is 10…She was just following it). They can’t give me any type of schedule and can basically just tell to come to work the same morning. I could go on and on, but no way in hell I’m working there again.
