Just got into work today and my BoH manger told me not to discuss my wages w FoH anymore, I asked why thinking something was fishy. He told me the FoH servers found out that they get roughy the same tips as the cooks and now they are lowering all our tips to raise the servers tips.
Now at first I didn't think of it, but now going back on it why tf ? I live in Canada we all get paid a great wage, like servers make at least 18/ hour plus tips. So I'm just confused. Feels like we are getting the short end of the stick considering how under trained FoH staff is compared to the BoH crew.
What are your thoughts on this?
