My wife's tip structure in her own words.
I'm a server/bartender at a dine-in movie theatre. Management makes all of the servers tip out 10% of SALES to a tip pool to share with bussers/runners despite the fact that servers regularly have to bus and run the food themselves.
Yesterday I got paid. I make $10 an hour plus the tips I don’t tip out. (I made over $150 every single shift before tip out, $350 one of those nights).
My paycheck was $909. Equates to $13.50 ish an hour.
If my math is right, I tipped out about $1000 this check. So I tipped out significantly more than I made.
How should I bring up how unfair this is to management if they continue to not listen?
